Aunty Lyd telling us how we should go on to the Marae.

 We were going to visit the Kenana Marae this week so Aunty Lyd came to help us get ready.

She shared a lot of interesting things with us so we would know what to expect when we got to the Marae.

A BIG THANK YOU to Aunty Lyd.

Aunty Lyd taught us how to hongi properly and what the hongi means.

She told us that the girls enter the Marae first and are protected by the boys coming behind. We had a little practice.

Another "BIG THANK YOU" to Kids Can for sending us these beautiful warm hats. We will really treasure them.

This morning we went outside to see the vintage cars and the people talked to us about the vintage cars. It was cool because it was funny and fun too.   Lexi

 This week we said goodbye to Kaylee, Eloise, Erica, Kruiz, Te Rangi and Mereana, who have all moved on to Room 4. This means we will have more room in our class for the new 5 year olds.

On Tuesday our Grandparents came to school to tell us how they travelled to their school and what it was like at their school.

On Tuesday our Grandparents came to school to tell us how they travelled to their school and what it was like at their school. We listened very carefully to them. Here we are listening to Erica's Grandad. Then we gave them a cup of tea and cookies. Thank you very much to all you wonderful grandparents. We hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we did.

  On Friday Mr Sedcole had a big surprise for us. He came to our classroom with some new shoes and some raincoats for us.

Some of us did not get new shoes because we needed a bigger size. Mr Sedcole is going to order these for us.

We think we look SUPER COOL in our new shoes!!!



 We designed some ramps to test the speed of our toycars and trucks.

Harmony and Ana made a ramp from a tray and some blocks.

Other people used a bucket and the wooden roof from the doll's house.

WOW!!!       See our cars go!!!!

Then we invited Cullen to get his mates to bring their saloon car to school. It's a real raising car. We all got to sit inside it and pretend we were driving it. Here is Te Rangi. Doesn't he look as cool as a real racing driver? 

 The racing car has it's own special trailer and these huge, gigantic tyres. We could not move them but we had fun on the trailer.

Toasting marshmallows.

We had a lot of fun last term making a barbecue with Mr Sedcole. The marshmallows were our favourites - but some people didn't like the burnt bits. Here are some photos of our feast.

It was a bit hard pushing the marshmallows onto the sticks.
